Olivia Parkinson Becomes the new Licking County Treasurer

Olivia Parkinson Becomes the new Licking County Treasurer – The Licking County Republican Central Committee met on January 14, 2015 and voted for Olivia Parkinson to become the new Licking County Treasurer. Parkinson is excited for this opportunity and honored to have the confidence of the county central committee. Parkinson is a Graduate of Lakewood High School and has her college B.S. degree in Accounting. Parkinson has over ten years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting for private sector businesses, as well as extensive experience in county government. Parkinson was previously the Deputy Clerk of Courts for Licking County Clerk, Gary Walters. Parkinson has a wealth of knowledge in computer technology and recently implemented a state of art system in the County Clerks office. The financial and organizational background of Parkinson will be an asset in the County Treasurer’s office. Licking County Republican Chairman Billie Fiore-Zimmers stated that “Olivia Parkinson is extraordinarily qualified for this position.”

Thank you to Retired Judge Jon R Spahr and Commissioner Tim Bubb for their efforts in making it such a special day. Proud of our local officials.

Licking County Republican Women’s Club annual Dinner.. Another Job well done. What a great night at the MCC with the Women’s club. Jeanne Bolton, outgoing president who is moving up with the Ohio Federation of Women and Kathy Wise past president and newly elected president of the Licking County Republican Women’s Club deserve a shout out. These women and their boards are doing wonderful things for the Party. They meet every Month the 3rd Wednesday of the Month. If you are interested in learning more, let us know.

JoAnn Davidson, Former Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, 1st Woman Speaker in Ohio and founder of the JoAnn Davidson Republican Women’s Leadership Institute was here in Licking County this weekend. The JAD held their fall retreat here in Licking County. It was an honor to have so many amazing women visit our county. Betty Montgomery, Former Ohio Attorney General, Former Ohio Auditor and Senator and Our Licking County State Central Committee Woman also spoke to about 150 women from across the state. Graduates of the JAD institute and fellow Licking County women (LCRW Former and current Pres Elect Kathy Wise and Granville Trustee Melanie Schott along with Licking County Republican Chairman Billie Fiore Zimmers) helped welcome the ladies at a reception on Friday night. Other Licking County JAD grads include Lori Weaver, Elaine Kent, Melissa Shilling, Cheri Hottinger, Helen Hall, Bambi Wright.
