LC Republican Women’s Club Honored Our Veterans at their May 16th Meeting

LC Republican Women’s Club Honored Our Veterans at their May 16th Meeting.

Women’s Club President, Jeanne Bolton and Vice President Cheryl Robertson put together a great program.  I could have listened to Don Jakeway Sr. for hours.  Mr. Jakeway of Johnstown Ohio offered insight into his time in service in WWII,  as well as his commitment to giving back to the community.  The Club also heard from Bruce Tolle, Commander of the  American Legion Post 254 regarding efforts to volunteer and support our veterans as they return home from service.  Another interesting part of the evening was learning about Honor Flight – The Mission of the Honor Flight Network is to fly America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their sacrifices.  Top priority is given to America’s most senior veterans.  www.honorflight.org  So much information in one meeting – It was wonderful!  Thank you for a great program.  For more information on upcoming programs by the Licking County Republican Women’s club – Email Jeanne at jeannebolton@windstream.net

County Commissioner Tim Bubb – Business Development Meetings in the Nation’s Capital Successful – Continuing to Build Port Authority and Community Support

This past Wednesday Commissioner Tim Bubb joined a delegation of business leaders and public officials in ‘business development’ meeetings held in the nation’s capital on behalf of the Newark-Heath-Licking County Port Authority.   This purpose of the trip was to continue to build and rally the Ohio Legislative Delegation on behalf of retaining and recruiting new jobs, especially aerospace opportunities, for the former Air Force Base site in Heath.  Targeted visits included Ohio’s Senator Rob Portman and others.  Also, Congressmen Bob Gibbs, Pat Tiberi and Steve Stivers, and the House Speaker John Boehner’s Chief of Staff, Mick Kreiger.

In addition, Commissioner Bubb and County Engineer Bill Lozier met with the Director of the Small Business Administration’s HUBZone Program, and at the White House with the Director who coordinates with the nation’s cities and counties for the Administration.   Both sessions were productive in looking at ways to qualify the Port Authority as a HUBZone site and bring this additional economic development to Licking County.   Commissioner Bubb and Engineer Lozier also discussed several other development issues critical to Licking County and Central Ohio with the Federal Administration.

A Message From Our Congressman Patrick Tiberi

Posted on: February 20th, 2012 by admin
Our Congressman Patrick Tiberi -

Our Congressman Patrick Tiberi -

I am delighted that ALL of Licking County is included in the newly redrawn 12th congressional district and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives.

I will continue to fight to cut spending while decreasing our annual deficit and paying off our national debt. We must cut our spending, impose and pass a balanced budget amendment to constitutionally limit our spending.  We need to reduce the size and scope of government by eliminating unnecessary federal programs and job-killing regulations. I believe we need to cut the bureaucratic red tape that over-burdens U.S. businesses, stifling their ability to grow, expand and hire.

As the Chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures, I will be leading the charge to reform our tax code, making it simpler and lowering the tax burden on individuals and small businesses.

Raising four young daughters with my wife, Denice, has reinforced my belief that America’s best days are yet to come. However, I believe a lot of hard work and difficult decisions still need to be made to secure a prosperous future.

I look forward to being with you this Friday at the Lincoln Day Dinner and to working with you to elect Republicans over the course of the year. As always, if you need to contact me or my staff, do not hesitate to call us at (614) 895-0900 or email us at info@tiberiforcongress.com

1st month in the Treasurer’s office – Tim Mercer, Newark City Treasurer

1st month in the Treasurer’s office – Tim Mercer, Newark City Treasurer

Renovations of phase 1 are complete.  We invite everyone to stop by and discover the warm and professional atmosphere in the remodeled area.  I am looking forward to the tax season and how I can be of assistance to my staff and the citizens of Newark.  Barb and Cindy have worked together to create a positive management style which in turn has created a happy and motivated staff.  Our office is continually working together to make the tax office the best it can be for the citizens of Newark.  Arline and Sandy continue to handle pay-ins from the other departments with expedience and professionalism.  They both have been very helpful in my transition to the treasurer’s office.  We have weekly staff meetings where information is shared on a wide variety of topics from procedures to change or continue, problems or questions from the staff, and then how we can fix the problems. Everyone has a voice and can be heard. I really believe the credit goes to Jeff Hall.  He has given the staff the comfort and confidence to ask for help and the willingness to share ideas.  In the staff meetings I have been able to share some of my experiences working with people and solving problems or concerns from my 32 years in education.  I would like to name all of my staff because they have all been very helpful  making me feel welcome.  Linda, Brenda, Maggie, Marsha, Sharree, Candy, Bobbi, and Joyce.  Barb and myself will be going to Newark High School to speak to the Government and OWE classes concerning filling their Newark Income Tax.  I am looking forward to working with my staff, the other departments in the city, and of course the citizens of Newark.
