Licking County is making a difference. We are in the heart of the effort to vote yes on State Issues 2 and Issue 3; preserving the reforms to Ohio public employee unions and stopping the federal government from forcing Ohioan’s to purchase mandated health insurance. Not only that, but we have many local candidates who are on the ballots for cities, villages, and townships. As Newt Gingrich says, don’t be “for” us, but be “with” us. As you are considering what you can do, or should do this year, realize that much of the work we do this year will carry over into the presidential elections in 2012. This is a very important business that we are involved in.
Last weekend was a very productive weekend thanks to many candidates and volunteers. I want to thank and commend those who have been helping on both the local campaigns as well as the two statewide issues. I am sure that everyone realizes that there is still much to do. I also understand that many good Republicans will probably still not come down to the Victory Center to make calls, or be willing to go door to door. That is an obvious fact. I know also that all of us have had multiple opportunities to attend fund raisers and send checks to candidates. I would ask you though, if you are not able to come to the Victory Center, and if you have not sent a contribution to any candidates, please consider mailing a check to the Licking County Republican Executive Committee, care of Jeff Hall, 48 N. 4th Street, Newark, Ohio. I assure you, your contributions will be appreciated and used to advance our Republican candidates in Licking County.
I suspect that anyone still reading my comments already know that the Victory Center is open 9-9 weekdays. I urge you to come down and spend an hour or two helping with the phone calls. I think once you try this, you will find that it is not that hard. Please contact Ashlie at 614-561-9087 or Steadman@ohiogop.org
